Tania Jooste, Michelle Heswick, & Christoff Jooste , are the attorneys who practise as Jooste Heswick Inc.
The firm initially commenced business practicing under the name and style of Jooste & Leidig Inc. on the 1st of October 2006 and our offices are located at 12 Papegaai Street, Stellenbosch, a building owned by the directors of the firm, as well as 170B Main Road, Somerset West. During 2011 our firm's name was changed to Jooste Heswick Inc and we currently employ a staff compliment of 8 employees.
3. Tania Jooste was a public prosecutor and admitted as a State Advocate and thereafter joined a leading Cape Town law firm where she practiced as an associate in the litigation department – her client base included, inter alia, all major financial institutions. Tania was also admitted as a Conveyancer and obtained specialist knowledge in relation to the National Credit Act. She is regarded as an authority in this field, has written several articles on this subject, presented seminars to, inter alia, the Cape Law Society, ABSA Bank and Nedbank, addressed the provincial meeting of the Auditor General and regional managers and lectured on the subject to final year law students at the University of Stellenbosch. Tania has also established herself as a specialist in the field of the Consumer Protection Act.
4. Michelle Heswick joined Jooste Heswick Inc. in March 2010 having gained extensive experience as a Conveyancer and Notary Public for several years with a prominent national law firm.
Michelle was invited to join Jooste Heswick Inc. as a director based on her exceptional qualities as an attorney, Notary and Conveyancer. However, Michelle also has exceptional qualities as a person which is evidenced by the fact that she has paid for her own studies at the University of Stellenbosch by working in a factory at night and have made it possible for her two sisters to obtain a tertiary education. Michelle has specialized expertise in conveyancing and property related matters in general and is well respected by her clients who includes municipalities, various estate agencies, large financial institutions and the major banks. Michelle is continuously expanding her vast knowledge of law and she has obtained her Master's degree in International Trade. She has been awarded The Lexis Nexis scholarship for two years in succession following her academic achievements. Michelle has been practicing as a Notary since 2004, gaining experience in the drafting of Notarial Servitudes, Cessions of Exclusive Use Areas, Notarial Bonds, Ante-nuptial contracts and authentication of documents for use outside South Africa. Michelle’s experience, includes traveling to the United Kingdom to assist clients with the authentication of documents to be used at the South African Deeds office.
5. Christoff Jooste has, ever since completing his articles as an Attorney and Conveyancer, had a keen interest in commercial and property law. He developed a strong client base which included all the major banks, all major estate agencies, various developers and a number of well respected clients in the property industry in general. Christoff was a partner with a well-known national law firm for whom he established a very successful Boland office. In recent years Christoff has established himself as a well- known expert in the structuring of residential and commercial property agreements, property related tax aspects and commercial law in general. He also has a keen interest in flying, as a commercial pilot and joined Jooste Heswick Inc. in March 2009 as a consultant giving him the opportunity to live his passion for flying but also to practice as part of a strong integrated law firm.
